CHICAGO - Donald Trump has gained fame for grilling contestants on his own TV show, ``Celebrity Apprentice.'' But he'll be the one in hot seat Tuesday as he takes the stand at a civil trial in Chicago.
Trump will be questioned about allegations he used false promises about a profit-sharing plan to woo an 87-year-old investor into buying properties at his Trump International Hotel & Tower in Chicago.
Trump could testify over several days at the federal trial that will shine a spotlight on his management style.
The lawsuit filed by Jacqueline Goldberg claims the profit-sharing proposal was quietly withdrawn after Goldberg bought condos in what the lawsuit portrays as a bait-and-switch.
But Trump's lawyers say Goldberg signed documents giving executives the power to withdraw the profit-sharing offer.
