Dog food sold in Illinois recalled

SPRINGFIELD – Dog owners in Illinois are being warned about a recall on dog food.

Breeder’s Choice Pet Foods is recalling AvoDerm Natural Lamb Meal and Brown Rice Adult Dog food because of possible salmonella contamination.

Salmonella can be passed from the dogs to humans and includes symptoms of nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, bloody diarrhea, fever, and stomach pain.

The dog food has “Best Before” dates of Aug. 28, 29, and 30 of 2013.
