BLOOMINGTON - The Bloomington Edge, presented by Heller Stores, has signed one of indoor football’s most reliable kickers for the upcoming season.

The Edge announced Thursday that Peter Christofilakos will return for his eighth season.  The Springfield native has been the primary kicker for each season of indoor football in Bloomington after playing one season with the af2’s Quad City Steamwheelers.  Christofilakos also spent part of the 2009 season with the Arena Football League’s Arizona Rattlers.

Christofilakos earned All-Big Ten Conference honors in 2001 at the University of Illinois.  He also has an extensive soccer background as a player and coach. He is currently the boys soccer coach at his alma mater, Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield.

The Edge begins play in the new Champions Professional Indoor Football League on March 15 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum against the Sioux City Bandits.
