CHICAGO - Chicago police say a 41-year-old man was arrested with 350 pounds of marijuana hidden in buckets of frozen strawberries in a rental truck.

Police say the drugs had an estimated street value of more than $853,000 and were to be distributed to gangs on Chicago's southeast side.

Martin Rosas of south suburban Dolton was charged with possessing more than 5,000 grams of cannabis.

Officers with the department's narcotics division followed Rosa's truck to a residential driveway, where they discovered the stash. The investigation led them to a warehouse where they found hundreds of buckets of frozen strawberries and more marijuana.

In all, more than 2,500 pounds of marijuana was found in over 1,000 buckets of frozen strawberries.

Authorities estimate the street value of all the recovered drugs at $6.8 million.
