LOMBARD - Authorities in west-suburban Chicago say the body of a fetus was found in a trash bin outside a shopping mall.

Police and prosecutors say they're investigating the death. They say the fetus was found Saturday outside the Yorktown Mall in Lombard. Authorities say results of an autopsy on the fetus are pending.

Investigating agencies include the DuPage County State's Attorney, Lombard Police Department and Glendale Heights Police Department. The mall is about 20 miles west of downtown Chicago.
