BLOOMINGTON - This summer, active military members can take advantage of free admission to more than 2,000 museums across the nation, thanks to the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families and Department of Defense.
One of those museums is the McLean County Museum of History in Bloomington.
"The people who are in the service are the folks who sometimes have a hard time finding that place to go, someplace where the kids can enjoy, and some place that's affordable as well," Museum Director Greg Koos said.
Other Central Illinois museums in the Blue Star program are the Children's Discovery Museum in Normal, the Tazewell County Museum and Education Center, the Peoria Riverfront Museum and the Livingston County War Museum.
