CHAMPAIGN - Normal West snapped a three-game losing streak and earned an automatic berth into the playoffs with a 44-7 Big 12 Conference victory Friday over Champaign Centennial.

Sophomore quarterback Eugeniy Fuss found his groove for the Wildcats, rushing for 101 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries while passing for another.

The ground attack led the way for the Wildcats, who moved their record to 6-3,  as nine different runners totaled 400 yards.

"We kept it simple and put the game in the hands of our senior leadership up front," said West coach Darren Hess. "All our backs ran hard, and our wide outs blocked."
