NORMAL- Normal West beat Normal Community 41-17 in the Intercity Girls Basketball Tournament Saturday night at Normal Community High School. 

West was led by Kennola Thomas with six points. West head coach Angie Codron was pleased with her team's defensive performance. 

"I felt like finally defensively we were all on the same page," Codron said after her team's win. 

West was coming off a 52-33 victory over Bloomington on Friday night. 

"It's about trusting their teammates," Codron said. "I think they're just building that trust a little bit with all the people that have come on to the team this year , and they're still building that trust and when they rotate they have to trust that someone else will be there and I think that's just starting to happen now."
