SPARTANBURG, S.C. - The Illinois State football team (7-2, 4-2 MVC) improved to 4-0 on the road this season with a 33-21 victory at Northern Iowa Saturday and moved up two spots in the FCS Coaches Poll announced Tuesday.

ISU moved up two spots to No. 15 in the FCS Coaches Poll with 264 points and remained steady in The Sports Network FCS Top 25 Poll at No. 17.

Illinois State has been ranked in every poll this season and for a total of 16-consecutive weeks, dating back to last season.

Four Missouri Valley Football Conference teams are ranked in the Top 25 polls this week, including all three teams that sit atop the conference standings with just one loss. North Dakota State (6-1, 4-1 MVFC) regained its No. 1 ranking in the TSN poll and moved up to No. 2 in the coaches poll, following its come-from-behind victory over Southern Illinois.

South Dakota State (6-2, 4-1 MVFC) jumped back into both polls after a week’s absence, moving up to No. 21 in The Sports Network FCS Top 25 and No. 25 in the FCS Coaches Poll following their dominant defeat of No. 21 ranked Youngstown State last weekend.

The Redbirds and the Sycamores will square off 1 p.m., Saturday, at Memorial Stadium in Terre Haute, Ind. Redbird Preview starts at noon on WJBC AM 1230 and FM 93.7.
