IWU men's top Chicago; women fall to UWSP

BLOOMINGTON- After a tight first half the Illinios Wesleyan (6-2) men's basketball team was able to pull away to a 82-63 victory over the University of Chicago (4-4) on Saturday, Dec. 15 at the Shirk center. 

Four players tallied double digits for the Titans with Dylan Overstreet leading the way with 18 points, five rebounds, and five assists. Andrew Ziemnik came close to a double-double with 17 points and 8 boards. Kevin Reed added 16 points and Pat Sodemann notched 14. 

This was the first game for the Titans since a Dec. 1 loss to Washington University in the Lopata Classic. 

The Titans offense had one of their best games of the season shooting 54% from the field, and 40% from behind the arc. The defense held U of C to 32% from the field. 

Next up for the Titans is the Orland Magic D. III Tourney in Orlando, FLA. where they'll face Mississippi College in their first contest on Friday, Dec. 21 at 6 p.m.

IWU women's

The Illinois Wesleyan women's basketball team fell to the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point 84-49 Friday, Dec. 15. 

IWU was outscored 46-19 in the second half. UWSP's Taylor Bahr led all scorers with 20. The Titans were led by Katy Seibring with 16.
