BLOOMINGTON—The Bloomington Flex, already with a huge halftime cushion, used a 21-0 run to open the third quarter en route to a 129-86 rout of the Lake Michigan Admirals in front of 1,098 fans at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington Friday night.
The Flex nearly doubled their 24-point 66-42 halftime lead midway through the third quarter, before the Admirals even scored their first points of the second half.
Bloomington High School and Southern Illinois product Justin Bocot led the Flex with 20 points, one of six Flex players in double figures. Jemal Farmer added 18 points on 7-10 shooting from the field. As a team, the Flex shot 56% from the floor.
The Flex, after dropping their first two games of the season, have won five straight games to raise their record to 5-2. Lake Michigan fell to 2-8.
The Flex are back in action Saturday at U.S. Cellular Coliseum, hosting the Central Division-leading Sauk Valley Predators. The Predators beat the Flex on March 15 100-94 at Sterling, Ill. With a win Saturday, the Flex would be one-half game behind the Predators.
