DES MOINES, IA. – DuPont Pioneer has launched 39 new soybean products for North American growers.
The new product line, called T Series, will be available on a limited basis for the 2013 growing season and more broadly in 2014.
“Virtually every soybean growing area in North America will have a potential product offering in this new class of products available to them,” said Don Schafer, senior marketing manager for soybeans with DuPont Pioneer.
Schafer said growers talk about defensive traits, agronomic traits, diseases and other factors, but he believes their first priority is yield. The T Series will build on the current Y Series soybeans, which are focused on boosting yield.
“The Y was for yield, and that’s something we continue to build on the Y Series, with their accelerated yield technology, so it’s looking for more yield. It’s also looking for the right defensive traits for their acre, as well, so it’s just kind of that next step,” said Dr. Jessie Alt, research scientist for Pioneer.
T Series varieties will include Plenish high oleic soybeans with consumer end use benefits, Liberty Link soybeans to support management of weed resistance to herbicides, and many other products.
Schafer encouraged customers to contact a local Pioneer sales professional to ask about the new products, even if they have already completed ordering soybeans for the coming year. Small quantities will be available for customers and Y Series soybeans will be tested in plots across the country.
“If you can’t tell, we’re excited about it,” said Schafer. “We had a very successful Y Series launch a few years ago. We believe this is the next step change in performance bringing to the marketplace, and we’re stepping up our game not only from a product and product support perspective, but also the services that we provide to the marketplace.”
The T Series product line incorporates the best of Pioneer’s research on molecular components, defensive traits, and yield testing in wide areas.
“Everything that research has, this is our best. This is what we have in the T Series, with a special emphasis on our Accelerated Yield Technlogy (AYT),” said Alt.
