BLOOMINGTON - Bloomington Alderman Steven Purcell is seeking a new office.

He said he wants to hold the township supervisor job because he wants to help the public and wants an exciting new job. Purcell said he's gained a lot of experience working on the city council for the past eight years.

"I've dealt with a $75 million budget in Bloomington over the last eight years and we struggled through some hard times with the city, so I think I have a pretty good idea of how to handle some tough situations," Purcell said.

"In this particular aspect, it's people that are struggling, that have come on some hard times and this particular office, 95 percent of what it does is it helps people," Purcell said.
