Van hits Bloomington Subway restaurant, injures driver

BLOOMINGTON - One person was transported to Advocate BroMenn Medical Center this morning after a minivan crashed through the rear of the Subway restaurant on S. Main in Bloomington.

The accident happened shortly before 6:30 a.m. when the vehicle left the roadway, went over a loading embankment at the back of the building and lodged in the wall. Bloomington Fire and Police officers were on scene finishing clean up for over two hours.  

The restaurant remains closed while investigators check the strucutral soundness.  No one was in the building at the time of the collision.

Police expect the driver to be fine.  There's no word on whether intoxicants were involved.
