DOWNS - A rural McLean County man was killed in a one-vehicle crash near Downs on Thursday night.

McLean County Coroner Beth Kimmerling said the driver, a 39-year-old man, drove his westbound pick-up truck off the road on U.S. Route 150 and collided with a tree at 102 N. Highway at about 10:30 p.m. He was pronounced dead at the scene at about 11:30 p.m.

The victim wasn't wearing a seat belt. He was the only occupant in the vehicle. His name hasn't been released.

Kimmerling said an autopsy is scheduled for today.

Downs Fire, Downs EMS and Illinois State Police responded to the crash.
