BLOOMINGTON - There will be a lottery to determine who will be first on the ballot for Bloomington mayor.
Candidates Tari Renner and Lex Green filed at 8 a.m. Monday morning. Bloomington Election Commission officials said the type of lottery will be determined in about a week and a half.
The other two mayoral candidates, John Hanson and Alton Franklin, did not turn in petitions early on Monday.
In Normal, Mayor Chris Koos will be atop the ballot after getting his petition in before challenger Victor Connor on Monday morning.
Also in Bloomington, current council member Bernie Anderson filed for Ward 1, as did newcomer Kevin Lower. Incumbent Jennifer McDade filed for Ward 5, with Matthew Koetters.
Current McLean County Board member Scott Black filed a petition for Ward 7 and Jim Fruin filed for Ward 9.
Council member Steven Purcell filed for Township Supervisor and will be opposed by Deborah Skillrud. Steve Scudder filed for Township Assessor.
For Normal Town Council, Kevin McCarthy, Jarrod Rackauskas, Scott Preston and Gary Ohler filed, with three seats available.
The final day to submit petitions for the spring election is Nov. 26.
