BLOOMINGTON - The Bloomington Kiwanis Club hosts its annual Pancake Days this weekend.
Kiwanis members will be serving pancakes and sausage this Saturday and Sunday 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Bloomington Center for the Performing Arts lower level ballroom.
Mike Laffey with the Kiwanis Club said the fundraiser helps about 100 children ages 8 to 10 attend Camp Limberlost at East Bay Camp at Lake Bloomington each summer.
"It's not a financial situation. It's not a family situation. It's just some kids that, for whatever reason, need a chance to get away to get around some other kids and develop socially," Laffey said.
Pancake Days includes a scholastic book fair, which began about 10 years ago as part of the event. Book fair hours are 7 a.m. to 1 p.m. both days.
Tickets are $6 in advance for adults and are available at the BCPA ticket office or from any Bloomington Kiwanis member.
Tickets are $7 at the door for adults. Children ages 5-12 are $3. Children under age 5 eat free.
