LINCOLN - A Freezing Rain Advisory is in effect for Central Illinois from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The heaviest precipitation is expect to fall between 12 p.m. and 3 p.m. Light ice accumulation is anticipated until temperatures climb above freezing in the later afternoon. Today's high his 37.
According to WMBD-31 Chief Meteorologist Marcus Bailey, total ice accumulations in the area will average a tenth of an inch or less. Bailey says that amount of ice should not cause damage to trees and power lines, but it will make for very slippery for travel.
Temperatrues will warm up into the week with a high of 54 on Monday and 63 by Tuesday. Rain will likley continue on and off with a chance for a thunderstorm by Tuesday.
