
Betty Mintus
Betty J. Mintus, 82, of Bloomington, Ill. died at 11:48 a.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013 at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center, Bloomington.
Her visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Monday, Feb. 25 at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington, Ill. followed by a prayer service at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ric Schneider officiating. Entombment will be in the mausoleum at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Bloomington.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Mary’s Church, Bloomington.
She was born June 3, 1930 in Bloomington, the daughter of George and Lena Caruso Harris. She married Charles F. Mintus. He preceded her in death on Jan. 14, 2009.
Surviving are a son, Stephen (Kathy) Mintus of Bloomington; two grandchildren, Joe (Patti) Mintus and Molly Mintus; three great-grandchildren, Sam, Maggie and Lucy Mintus; a brother, Charles (Doris) Harris of Bloomington; and a sister, Antoinette Whorrell of Bloomington.
She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Don Harris.
Betty cared very deeply for her family and would do anything for them. She was an avid shopper and enjoyed working around her house and in her garden. Betty’s family would like to express their gratitude to the doctors and nurses at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center for the excellent care they provided.
Peter Klein
Peter “Pete” Klein, 83, of Bloomington, Ill. passed away at 5 p.m., Thursday Feb. 21, 2013 at Martin Health Center, Bloomington.
Pete was born July 28, 1929 in Tuscola, Ill. to Martin and Amelia Klein. He married Betty Ploense on Sept. 27, 1946; she survives.
Also surviving are 2 daughters, Judy (Gary) Gillespie, Dwight and Joyce (Doug) Phillips, New River, AZ; grandchildren, Michele (Mark) Nothdorf, Wonder Lake and Bryan (Nikki) Gillespie, Scottsdale, AZ; great-grandchildren, Elijah and Erin Nothdorf, Wonder Lake and Skyla and Hudson Gillespie, Scottsdale, AZ; and step-grandson, Christopher Phillips, Danvers, Ill.
He was preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, and 1 sister.
Funeral services for Pete will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Feb. 26 at East Lawn Funeral Home, Father Ric Schneider will officiate. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 10 a.m. till the time of the service at the funeral home. Interment will follow at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington.
Memorials contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
