Norman P. Butcher
Norman P. Butcher, 92, of Normal passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2012 at 10:25 p.m. in Normal at Heartland Health Care.
Funeral services will be held on Monday at Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home in Bloomington at 2 p.m. with Pastor Allen Steinbeck officiating. Visitation will be held 2-4 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home. Interment will be in Park Hill Cemetery in Bloomington. Kibler-Brady-Ruestman Memorial Home is handling arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Norman’s name.
Norman was born on May 16, 1920 in Jacksonville, Ill. a son of Harry G. and Anna (Meier) Butcher. He married Dorothy E. Rice on Sept. 4, 1943 in Jacksonville. She preceded him in death on Sept. 24, 2003.
Survivors include a daughter, Patricia A. Dickson-Borajkiewicz of Cleveland, Tenn., a son, Joseph M. Butcher of Bloomington, grandchildren, Jean Butcher of Normal, Larisa (David) Deatrick of Normal, Victor(Imelda) Butcher of Jackson Heights, NY, Alexander (Jennifer) Anthony stationed at Scott Air Force Base, also surviving are four great-grandchildren.
In addition to his wife Dorothy, Norman was preceded in death by his parents.
He graduated from Franklin High School in Franklin, Ill. and then attended a trade school. Norman worked as a design engineer for 25 years at the Eureka Company. He has had several patents associated with his name for the Eureka Company.
Norman was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Bloomington.
He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan, loved to listen to country music and to play the guitar and harmonica. In his younger years Norman loved hiking and camping and just being outside.
Norman was a frugal man, but was very generous when it came to helping others. He was a man of few words, but will be deeply missed for his sense of humor by his family and friends.

Donald S. "Pops" Seiler
Donald S. “Pops” Seiler, 81, of Danvers, died at 8:20 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012 at Advocate BroMenn Medical Center in Normal
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at Carmody-Flynn Williamsburg Funeral Home, Bloomington. Burial will be in Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers with military rites accorded. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to theDanvers Fire & Rescue.
Don was born on Sept. 2, 1931 in Bloomington. He married Beverly Ploense on Dec. 22, 1951 in Bloomington. She preceded him in death on Oct. 8, 2006.
He is survived by four daughters, Linda (Tom) Schuerman, Danvers, Judy (Norm) Rocke, Danvers, Jane (Jerry) Elliott, Westerville, Ohio and Joan (Tim) Maney, Danvers; one son, Mark (Lori) Seiler, Danvers; thirteen grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren; and one sister, Mary “Dutch” Scott, Conyers, Ga.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Elizabeth Seiler Lash and his brother, William Lash.
Don served in the U.S. Navy. He was an electrician for many years and was a member of I.B.E.W. Local No. 197, Bloomington. After his retirement, Don worked at the Goodfield Dinner Theater as well as the Weibring Golf Club at Illinois State University, where he served as a Ranger and later worked in maintenance.
Pops enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf and will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
