Two local social service agencies have felt the crunch of need both in this area and beyond this summer. Midwest flooding has brought emergency service demands from many surrounding states and high food and gas prices have drained the donation supply of many pantries.
The Salvation Army of McLean County has seen their pantry dwindle this year and requires an influx of donations to help fill the area's need. You can help the Salvation Army with a donation of non-perishable food or personal products. You can drop off donations M-F at 611 W. Washington, Bloomington.
Also, the Midwest Food Bank is collecting donations not only for the need in this area but also to send to the flood-stricken area of Cedar Rapids. The Midwest Food Bank is located at 1703 S. Veteran's Parkway. Call 663-5350 for more information.
