There's a supposed controversy surrounding the contest to name Normal's new baseball team.   A group that created the webpage NormalCoalBears.com feels the name has already been picked and the contest is rigged. Normal Professional Baseball Consultant Mike Thiessen tells WJBC's Beth Whisman it's simply not the case.

The website also claims the entry Nutz is in the lead because of its ties to the Beer Nuts Brand and a possible contract agreement.   Thiessen says those claims aren't true either.

Thiessen says the team did purchase the website NormalNutz.com. But he says domain names for the other three entries have also been purchased in advance.

You have until midnight Sunday to pick your favorite on www.normalbaseball.com. The final four names include the Nutz, the Coal Bears, the NightHawks and the CornBelters.
