Meet Your Next Governor hosts candidates and surprises

Some candidates for governor appeared at the Lafayette Club in Bloomington

Some candidates for governor converged in Bloomington last night, at the Meet Your Next Governor forum. Six candidates were individually asked the same four questions. The first question was what would they cut out of the state budget immediately.
Senator Bill Brady was clear on what he would trim.

Another republican, Dan Proft wanted to stop high-speed rail.

Additional questions revolved around the right to bear arms, state sovereignty and illegal immigration. The four republicans, one constitutionalist and one independent held similar views of smaller government and greater accountability.

At the conclusion of the event, a 7th candidate announced his intentions, Lex Green, an electrician for Mitsubishi and member of the McLean County Freedom Coalition threw his hat into the ring.
