BLOOMINGTON – Aimed at providing hands-on experience, Miller Park Zoo is seeking applications for the Junior Zookeeper program this summer.

Students who are currently in 5th grade or higher are eligible to begin participation in Miller Park Zoo’s Junior Zookeeper program.

“The JZK program is great for students who are looking for experience working with people, learning leadership and time management skills, and spending some quality time with animals,” said Miller Park Zoo in a news release. “Beginner JKZ’s attend a one-week summer camp; camp sessions are held throughout the summer.”

To receive an application, students and at least one of their guardians must attend an informational meeting on March 2, 3, or 5 from 7 until 8:15 p.m.

Miller Park Zoo is located at 1020 S. Morris Ave. in Bloomington.

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. I was a grade-schooler during the Civil Rights 1960s. I watched Birmingham demonstrators hosed and the Selma – Montgomery…

Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
