Former Bloomington fire chief now heads Alabama department

ORANGE BEACH, AL. – A former Bloomington Fire Chief is now taking the reigns of a department in Alabama.

Mike Kimmerling was appointed fir chief of the Orange Beach Fire Department after serving as interim chief since June, according to GulfCoastNewsToday.com.

Kimmerling started his career with the Bloomington Fire Department and was the first paramedic hired by the department in 1987. He worked in Bloomington for 27 years, his last five years serving as fire chief.

Mike’s wife, Beth, also worked locally serving as McLean County Coroner from 2000 to 2014.
