BLOOMINGTON – A woman is free on bond after McLean County prosecutors charged her with endangering two children in her van because she had been drinking vodka before taking the wheel.
According to court documents, Bloomington Police were investigating a multi-vehicle crash late Friday night in the 900 block of North Main Street.
Police said 31-year old Nakisha Wilkes was the driver of a van that was heavily damaged. Two children, ages three and ten, were said to be inside the vehicle.
Police said Wilkes failed standardized field sobriety tests and admitted she drank vodka.
It’s not clear in the court records whether the children were hers.
Wilkes is charged with child endangerment, drunk driving, and aggravated drunk driving.
She posted a $500 cash bond pending a November 22 court appearance.
