Eagle Station post office on Towanda to close Friday

BLOOMINGTON – The U.S. Postal Service will close its Eagle Station facility on Towanda Avenue at the end of the week.

The facility located at 1211 Towanda Avenue will close Friday, according to a news release. Eagle Station will move back to its former location, 1511 E. Empire Street, and will reopen Nov. 12. The newly renovated Empire location includes 30 parking spaces, five-window stations, two self-service kiosks, two letter and parcel drops, 24-hour lobby access and a passport office.

To accommodate people during the transition, the Downtown Station post office, located at 400 North Center Street, will have extended hours Friday until 7 p.m. and Saturday until 3 p.m.
