Sorrells announces candidacy for McLean County Coroner

BLOOMINGTON – A Democrat has announced her candidacy for McLean County Coroner.

Abbi Sorrells is a registered nurse specializing in emergency and critical care, according to a news release Thursday.

“As an elected official, I will ensure that everyone gets equal attention, no matter where they live in McLean County.  I will run an office that has a positive work environment and is efficient and accountable to taxpayers and citizens,” said Sorrells.

Sorrells said she spent time as a flight nurse and is a veteran with the Illinois Army National Guard.

Sorrells will try to unseat Republican Kathy Yoder, who has been coroner since 2014.
