Repeat winners at ISF hog and husband calling contests

SPRINGFIELD – Repeat winners dominated the stage Sunday at the Illinois State Fair’s hog- and husband-calling contests.

Petersburg resident Shelly Flickinger said afterward, “A good friend of mine won it two years ago; I won it last year, and I wanted to repeat.” She admitted later her husband does not always come when she calls him.

Four-time winner Andrew Metheney of Georgetown said he does not even call hogs for real. “I live in the middle of town,” he said.

Each wins $100.
