BLOOMINGTON – A Bloomington woman is accused of stabbing her mother approximately 15 times early Saturday morning.

Court documents indicated Gwendolyn Calloway, 26, was charged with aggravated domestic battery with a deadly weapon and attempted murder.

Bloomington police were called after 6:30 a.m. Saturday to a Rainbow Avenue apartment after the victim called 911. The court statements said the victim was stabbed about 15 times in the chest and back. The victim was taken into surgery after briefly talking with officers. Police said the woman’s wounds are serious but don’t appear to be life-threatening.

Bond for Calloway was set Saturday morning at $250,000. She must post $25,035 to be released. Arraignment is scheduled for August 9.
