Gov. Pritzker addresses cancellation of Confederate Railroad

SPRINGFIELD – One man’s music is another man’s hate speech.

The state has derailed Confederate Railroad from the Du Quoin State Fair lineup, and reporters in Chicago asked the governor about it Wednesday.

“We’re talking about a band that has as its emblem a Confederate flag,” Pritzker said after an unrelated event. “The Confederate flag is a symbol of not just slavery, but of treason against the United States. It’s also a symbol of murder, of kidnapping, of rape.”

Gov. Pritzker dismisses the antics of Snoop Dogg, on the bill at the state fair in Springfield, as “political satire.” Among other things, he’s depicted a dead man with a toe tag reading Trump.
