Belters’ McWilliams named Prospect League Player of Week

NORMAL – After a week that included six extra-base hits, Normal CornBelters infielder Canyon McWilliams is the Prospect League Player of the Week.

McWilliams led the league with a .684 batting average during the week and a .739 on-base percentage including a home run, five doubles and six runs scored. The 6-1, 205-pound lefthander recorded a 1.105 slugging percentage and a 1.844 OPS. McWilliams is from Shaker Heights, Ohio and is a junior at Ohio Wesleyan University.

The CornBelters begin a six-game road trip Tuesday with the first of three games at West Virginia. The Belters return home next Tuesday, June 18 to face the Springfield Sliders.
