NORMAL- Another major investor placing it’s bet on Rivian.

Ford Motor Company says it’s investing $500 million into the electric vehicle producer.

Ford will develop an exclusive, new electric vehicle from the Rivian platform. The new vehicle, according to Ford, will exist alongside its current battery electric plans – including an all-electric Mustang inspired crossover and electrified F-150 pickup.

Ford also confirmed Rivian will assemble the skateboard platforms here in town at the Normal plant but production would be handled by Ford – however they wouldn’t say where final assembly would happen.
