Goods, Maggett sweep weekly MVC awards

NORMAL – Illinois State women’s basketball has swept the weekly Missouri Valley Conference awards.

Simone Goods is the Valley Player of the Week for the second time this season after averaging 23.5 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 76 percent from the field during two Redbird wins.

TeTe Maggett  is the Valley Newcomer of the Week for the fourth time this season, scoring 22 points against league-leading Missouri State and 14 points at Southern Illinois, including 10 in the final four minutes to seal the win.

The Redbirds (15-9, 8-5 MVC) have won five straight games and are in action just once this week in a Friday night game at Bradley.
