BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police were investigating two armed robberies on Monday, both on the city’s east side.

The latest hold-up happened about 9:30 p.m. in an apartment building. The other happened in broad daylight at a local business.

Police said a black man armed with a handgun robbed two people in an apartment in the 1700 block of Clearwater Avenue. Police are not disclosing what was taken. No one was hurt. The suspect was last seen running from the scene.

The other stick-up happened about 11:30 a.m. Monday at Check Into Cash at 2303 E. Washington St., just east of Veterans Parkway.

Police in that case are looking for a black man with a handgun, about 5′, 8″ tall, who took an undisclosed amount cash. He was last seen running southbound. There were no injuries.
