BLOOMINGTON – Bloomington Police are investigating an armed robbery on the city’s east side.

Police responded around 11:30 a.m. Monday to the Check Into Cash loan agency at 2303 East Washington Street, just east of Veteran Parkway.

The suspect had a small handgun and fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of cash. Nobody was injured and the suspect is being described as a black male, approximately 5’8″ and was last seen running southbound.

Police say it’s too early to determine if this incident is related to about 11 other armed robberies in McLean County since early December.

Anyone with information is asked to contact BPD Detective Jared Roth at 309-434-2379 or email [email protected].

African-Americans have been killed too many times in the past before George Floyd, but the response to this man’s death is international and all-encompassing. Workers’ Memorial Day – Remember those whose job took their life

Looking around our community, when we say employer, most will respond to State Farm, Country, or Illinois State University.   We too often forget those who are building our roads, serving our food, or our public employees. COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
