Visitor Restrictions Spread to More Health Facilities

BLOOMINGTON– Just a little less than two weeks after OSF Healthcare St. Joseph Medical Center in Bloomington implemented visitor restrictions Advocate BroMenn Medical Center and Advocate Eureka Hospital are Following suit and joining the health center in limiting visitors effective Tuesday, January 15, 2019.

Linda Stein, Vice President of Infection Prevention, Advocate Aurora Health issued a statement saying the health group had been closely monitoring influenza activity and have seen an increase in cases across the region.

In an effort to keep patients safe, Advocate is taking proactive measures to limit the spread of the flu by implementing certain visitor restrictions.

Children under the age of 18 and those experiencing flu-like symptoms will not be permitted to visit, and only two visitors will be allowed at a time.

As a reminder,Stein adds, it is never too late to get a flu vaccine during flu season and anyone 6 months or older, including pregnant mothers, is encouraged to get a shot.
