Redbird Arena updates could mean change for season ticket holders

NORMAL – If you have season tickets for Redbird basketball and volleyball you may be sitting in a different part of Redbird Arena as updates are made to the 30 year old facility.

In a letter to season ticket holders Thursday, Illinois State University Athletic Director Larry Lyons, laid out the plans to improve the fan experience at the arena.  That includes new seats with updated upholstery, cup holders and additional leg room.

The changes, however, means a shift in the seating chart with the number of rows and seats changing in the lower bowl.

The updates will require a reseating of the arena for all season ticket holders.

Lyons said ticket holders will be hearing from the ticket office so the new seat sections process can be explained.  Maps and diagrams of the changes will be provided for fans to map out where they want to sit once the upgrades are completed.
