Coroner tentatively ID’s three victims of Wednesday’s semi crash

BLOOMINGTON – The McLean County Coroner’s office has tentatively identified the three people killed when two semi-trailer trucks crashed and caught fire early Wednesday morning on Interstate 39 near Hudson.

However, the coroner is waiting for scientific verification of the victims’ identities and completing the task of notifying relatives before releasing their names to the public.

A statement released late Thursday afternoon from Coroner Kathy Davis said preliminary autopsy results show the three victims died from blunt force injuries.

The coroner and Illinois State Police are continuing to investigating the crash.
