BLOOMINGTON – McLean County prosecutors have charged a Bloomington man with sexually assaulting a woman and beating her with a metal pipe.

Tommy Jackson, 48, is also charged with aggravated battery and domestic battery.

The charges allege Jackson raped the woman in Bloomington on Saturday, while the beating reportedly happened sometime between last Thursday and Sunday. The woman suffered bruises in the alleged attack.

Court records indicate Jackson has a 1996 domestic battery conviction in Champaign County.

A judge set bond for Jackson at $100,000 bond, which means he has to post $10,035 to be released from jail.

COVID-19 has made us more aware of the risk.  Going to work every day for some people means…
