Roger Popejoy

FAIRBURY –  Roger Herbert Popejoy, 75, Fairbury and formerly of Cropsey, died at 5:55 pm Saturday, July 21, 2018 at Accolade Healthcare, Pontiac.

Graveside inurnment will take place at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at Cropsey Twp. Cemetery. Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury is assisting with arrangements.

Mr. Popejoy was born December 24, 1942 in Fairbury the son of Herbert Fred and Alberta Kathryn Meyer Popejoy.

Survivors include two daughters, Kathy McCool, Carlock and Karen (John) Alsman, Cropsey, seven grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren and two sisters, Bonnie Alkire, Coolidge, AZ, Sherrie Garrett, Vandalia.

He is preceded in death by a daughter, Veronica Sticklin.

Michael Randl

BLOOMINGTON – Michael R. Randl, 58 of Bloomington, passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

His service will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at 1 p.m. at Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home Bloomington. Following the service burial will be held at East Lawn Memorial Gardens, Bloomington. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

In lieu of sending flowers the family has requested memorial gifts to be made to the American Kidney Foundation, American Heart Association or to Fersenius Kidney Care Normal.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Michael was born on January 2, 1960 in Lincoln, IL. He is the son of Bill and Jane (Casey) Randl.

He is survived by his sister, Sonja (Rich) Leas, Bloomington; niece, Candace Leas and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceded in death by his parents.

Michael was a 1978 graduate of Bloomington High School. he was the owner/operator of Anaconda Sewer and Drain and previously worked at Modine Manufacturing. He was a very detailed and organized person and also could be a jokester and prankster at times. He enjoyed bowling and darts and played on several Bloomington Leagues. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping and launching his model rockets and was a Star Trek fan.
