Bessie Mclain

Bessie M. Mclain, 85 of Arrowsmith, passed away on Sunday, June 10, 2018 at Advocate BroMenn Regional Medical Center, Normal.

Bessie’s service will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at noon at Otto-Argo-Calvert Funeral Home, Danvers, Illinois with Pastor Steve Evans officiating. Following the service burial will be at Park Lawn Cemetery, Danvers. Visitation will be on Saturday from 10-noon at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.

Bessie was born on May 21, 1933 in Danvers, Illinois. She is the daughter of John W. and Dessie L. (Crow) Carey. She is survived by her children, Robert (Georgia) Mclain, Downs, IL; Roy Douglas Mclain, Arrowsmith, IL; Ronny Dennis Mclain, Arrowsmith, IL; Geneva (Ronny) Beck, Gibson City, IL; Russell Dean Mclain; Ralph Dwayne Mclain, Loda, IL and William Dale Mclain, Arrowsmith, IL; grandchildren, Melinda Jane Mclain, Bartonville, IL; Susan Marie Finley, Sulphur Springs, TX; Tammy Jo Mclain, Oklahoma; Jonathan Robert Mclain, Illinois. She is also survived by several great and great-great grandchildren along with numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; 2 daughters, Cindy May and Mary Lee Mclain; 6 brothers; 1 sister and a sister in law, Grace Carey.

Bessie loved her flower garden, country music and watching her Soap Operas and Western TV shows. She was a loving mother and grandmother and she will be deeply missed my all of them.

Michael Parido

Michael L. Parido, 63 of Bloomington, Illinois, passed away on Monday, June 11, 2018 at OSF Richard L. Owens Hospice Home, Peoria.

Michael’s service will be held on Friday, June 15, 2018 at 10 a.m. at Beck Memorial Home, Bloomington with Pastor Rick Wagner officiating. Private family burial will be held prior to the service. Visitation will be held on Thursday, June 14, 2018 from 5-7 p.m. at Beck Memorial Home.

Calvert & Metzler Memorial Home is in charge of arrangements.

Michael was born on June 8, 1955 in Bloomington, Illinois. He is the son of Ronald and Barbara (Shelton) Parido.

Michael is survived by his parents, Ronald L. and Barbara L. Parido, Bloomington; his sisters, Deborah L. (Tim) Starkey, Bloomington and Ronda L. (Leonard) Hanks, Shingle Springs, CA, along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael was a 1973 graduate of Bloomington High School. He was employed at State Farm for 30 years and later worked at Marriott Residence Inn, Bloomington for 3 years. Michael enjoyed volunteering for the American Red Cross, Home Sweet Home Mission, Prairie Aviation Museum, Girl Scouts of America and Meadows Mennonite Nursing Home. He loved watching movies and listening to Jazz music. He was a good friend to many and was loved dearly by his family and friends. He will be deeply missed by all of them.
