Motorcyclists can join in supporting the Mother Road

BLOOMINGTON – Motorcycle owners now can join car owners in supporting Route 66.

By registering for the new Illinois Route 66 Motorcycle Plate, motorcyclists are funding the preservation and promotion of the highway.

State Representative Tim Butler sponsored the legislation that created the plate and he says Route 66 is a historic part of the American culture.

Tourist from around the world travel Route 66 bringing millions of dollars of economic impact to communities along the route.
