AM 1230 WJBC, in conjunction with Meatheads of Bloomington-Normal and Roberts Trophies, is proud to present the WJBC Athletes of the Week.

Ellie Weltha – Bloomington Softball and Track & Field

Ellie hit her 41st career home run to break a school record while pitching a 2-hit shutout, and qualified for the state meet in shot put and discus.

Nathan Lavender – El Paso-Gridley Baseball

Nathan struck out 15 hitters over six innings and helped his own cause by driving in three runs on a double and homer in a 7-0 win over Lexington.
