ISU’s Yarbrough, woman charged after April dispute

NORMAL – Illinois State University basketball player Milik Yarbrough faces a misdemeanor criminal charge for what Normal Police said was a domestic dispute last month in which a woman was also charged.

An 18-year old woman allegedly took Yarbrough’s cell phone and ran out of the apartment in the 600 block of Kingsley St. in Normal April 24.

Police said Yarbrough pursued the woman, Tiarra Kindle, recovered the phone, then pushed her, “thereby endangering her safety.”

Police arrested Yarbrough Tuesday on a reckless conduct charge. He was released on bond. Kindle is charged with criminal damage to property, which is also a misdemeanor.

This is Yarbrough’s second brush with the law since February when he was arrested for allegedly failing to appear in court for a traffic offense.

ISU men’s basketball coach Dan Muller issued a statement saying he’s aware of the situation and is handling the matter internally.
