UPDATED: Man injured in Bloomington shooting

BLOOMINGTON – Police are investigating a shooting on the city’s east side on Wednesday night.

Residents reported multiple shots were fired in the 2100 and 2200 blocks of Rainbow Avenue at about 9:30 p.m. A 26-year-old man was reportedly shot in the leg. Police say his injuries don’t appear to be life threatening. Bloomington Fire Department Rescue transported him to a local hospital.

Bloomington Police said a witness reported seeing two men, both holding handguns. Witness said they heard some yelling, then gun shots and then saw the two men running west from the scene.

Police reportedly found a handgun on the ground and multiple shell casings at the scene, but no property damage was reported.
