Drengwitz elevated to NCHS head football coach

NORMAL – A longtime assistant has been elevated to head coach of Normal Community High School football.

The Ironmen announced Jason Drengwitz has been named to the position, pending Unit 5 board approval on Wednesday night.

Drengwitz has been an assistant coach with the program for 14 years, the last 10 as offensive coordinator. He is a native of Pontiac, where he was an assistant football coach for five seasons.

Drengwitz played football for four seasons at Illinois Wesleyan. He is a business teacher at NCHS.

Drengwitz succeeds Wes Temples, who resigned last fall after 10 seasons as Ironmen head coach.
