Jean Cleary
Frances O. “Jean” Clary, 86, formerly of Stanford and Bloomington, passed away at 9:25 a.m., Tuesday, March 6, 2018 at Heritage Health in Normal.
Her visitation will be from 5-7 p.m., Friday, March 9, 2018 at Carmody-Flynn Funeral Home, Bloomington. Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m., Saturday, March 10, 2018 at St. Joseph Cemetery, Galesburg.
Memorials may be directed to Heritage Health in Normal to be used for their Legacy Unit or to the charity of the donor’s choice.
Jean was born June 27, 1931 in Galesburg, the daughter of Ernest R. and Mary Vitali Oakes. She married Aldis B. “Salty” Clary on May 9, 1950 in Galesburg. He preceded her in death on Oct. 15, 1997.
She is survived by four daughters, Jane C. Hutchins of Normal, Margie (Dennis) Clary-Balonis of Bloomington, Mary Kay (Max) Crawford of Creston, Iowa and Laura Clary of Bloomington; two sons, Jim (Kala) Clary of Overland Park, Kan. and Andrew (Ruston Alsbrooks) Clary of Houston, Tex.; six grandchildren, Shannan (Tim) Somers, Nikki (Jason) Shallenberger, Sonja Hutchins, Phillip Hutchins, Lana Clary and Thomas Ryan Clary; six great grandsons, Kade, Owen and Quin Somers and Grant, Jack and Max Shallenberger; three siblings, Ernie (Vickie) Oakes of Hinesburg, Vt., Holly Gregory of Coco Beach, FL and Clara (Tom) Nold of Shelburne, Vt..
She was preceded in death by a son, Richard Wayne Clary and sister and brother-in-law, Katie and Monte Jones.
Jean was a secretary and bookkeeper at Stanford Fertilizer and had volunteered at OSF St. Joseph Medical Center.
