Charles Janson
Charles Joseph Janson Jr., 95, Fairbury, died at 8:06 a.m. Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Good Samaritan Home, Pontiac.
His funeral Mass will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at St. Andrew Parish, Fairbury with Fr. Scott Archer officiating. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery, Fairbury with full military rites accorded by the Fairbury VFW and American Legion posts. Visitation will be 9-10:00 a.m. Wednesday at Duffy-Pils Memorial Home, Fairbury. The family suggests memorials be given to St. Andrew Parish, Fairbury.
Mr. Janson was born February 22, 1923 in New York, New York the son of Charles Joseph and Madeline Veronica Harrigan Janson Sr. He married Easter Cornelia Yates on July 3, 1959 in Chicago, IL. She preceded him in death on August 10, 2001.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by one sister, Sister Charles of St. Joseph O. Carm.; one step-daughter, Peggy E. Otworth and one step-son, William M. Sullens.
Mr. Janson served in the United States Navy during WWII. He later worked as a civilian for the Department of the Navy until his retirement.
