Pontiac Prison still on lockdown after ‘disturbance’ injures staffer

PONTIAC – Pontiac Correctional Center remains on lockdown after authorities say a “disturbance” there earlier this week injured a prison staff member.

A statement from the Illinois Department of Corrections said the staff member was treated for non-life threatening injuries following the incident that happened Wednesday.

The department is declining to release other details while the matter is being investigated.
